I went to the theater concert.

I've also been listening to Foo Fighters just because they are badass. Ive been listening to basically all of their albums. Foo Fighters is a good album i thought and wasting Light was a good album. Dave grohl is one of the coolest Artist out there. He took some of his knowledge from Nirvana and created something new and awesome with it. You can tell because it heavily rock influenced and Grungy. Foo fighters is a really great band.
I've been Listening to Kings of Leon lately to try in get into the ACL mood. I always try to listen to at least one album from bands i'm interested in that are going to ACL. So far Ive listened to 2 albums and i have to say they are amazing. Only by the Night and Come around Sundown. I just put them on shuffle and listen as i sit around the house. I have to say ACL doesnt really have the best Line up ive seen. I like Depeche Mode but it only appeals to a certain audience. Most kids my age are like who the hell is Depeche mode. Also they are a old 80's rock band so only certain groups of people will like it.
I'm not a big fan of Radiohead, I probably wouldn't listen to them in my free time. Although I have to say they are very interesting. There's just a certain Vibe i get from them, i just cant describe it. I guess they are very weird i don't know how to say it. My favorite song is Creep, probably because that's like the first song i've heard from them.
I don't know how i feel about Massive attack. They are good but the type of music isn't for me. They give me a feel of a late night ride maybe doing something you're not suppose to do. I do like the songs with the girl singing though. I do recognize one song from the album and that's Teardrop. It is the Theme song to the T.V show "House"

We listened to the smashing pumpkins and they never disappoint. One of my favorite rock bands of all time. Disavowing the punk rock roots of many of their alt-rock contemporaries, the Pumpkins have a diverse, densely layered, and guitar-heavy sound, containing elements of gothic rock and heavy metal. The band was formed by Billy Corgan. He is the main song writer and he is also a very talented musician.
We listened to wu tang clan on Tuesday and they never get old. They are all so fluid with there rhymes. They have really good beats as well. Enter the wu tang is probably my favorite album by them probably because its the first album I've listened to. Wu tang forever is good too, but I'm just more connected to enter the wu tang. My favorite artists out of the group are both GZA and RZA. It seems like they have more flow then any of the other members. In my opinion they are better then NWA lyrically. But in terms of making a deference and change in a generation, NWA probably did a better job.

I really like Beastie Boys, and Paul's Boutique. They for sure brought something new to the table and the label didn't know I it was good or bad. It does sound different and new but that's what I like about it. We also listened nine inch nails. Personally I didn't like it. I just though it was a whole bunch of loud sounds mashed together.
I love old school rap. Especially NWA and Wu Tang Clan. In some cases I think it's better than some rappers alive today. From NWA Ice Cube and Dr. DRE are still in the buisness of making music. I would say that the group that made the most impact on rap would be NWA. Although I think wu tang clan was better lyrically.

The Youtube videos on U2s concert was awesome. I could listen to them all day and not get bored. They right great songs. What makes a band good to me is that they are able to preform live and give a great show. If a band is not great playing live then that can really kill a band for me as far as liking them. Thats what i like about U2, they are great live.
I thought the Film "It Might Get Loud" was very interesting. Big fan of U2 and there guitarist, but it was cool to get an inside look at what he actually recorded in the studio. It gave good insight on the process on recording. I didn't listen to much of Jack White but from what I saw he seems very talented. I feel like his very creative and he uses that as an advantage to make his music style very original.

Micheal Jackson is very talented and thriller is a great album. He has influenced rock and music since the Jackson 5 in my opinion. Jackson is recognized as the most successful entertainer of all times. His contributions to music, dance, and fashion, along with his publicized personal life, made him a global figure in popular culture for over four decades. He's called the "king of pop" for a reason.
I don't have a problem with hair metal. In fact I actually like a lot of it, but it's not something I woul listen to a lot. I would say my favorite band of that genre would be Def Lepard. My mom really likes them and I guess I like them because I've listened to them when I was younger. I can see how people would hate hair metal because of the cheesy music, but I don't think the point of it was to have great meaningful lyrics. It was to rock hard and party hard type of deal. The 80's was a very weird time for rock and music in general, but I feel like its not all bad.

I'm not a fan of Disco. I don't listen to it on my free time, but it's not something to hate necessarily. The whole point of Disco wasn't to make the best lyrics or the best music It was something to get away from it all. When i hear disco i have an erg to snap my fingers and dance. Its so catchy and fun and makes you smile. I also think the Sugarhill Gang is very interesting. They where essentially the start of rap. The song rappers delight was funny because they were all dressed up in Disco Attire but they were dancing to rap.
What weve been listening to as far as 70's punk and rock, my favorite bands have been the Police and the Clash. The Clash is one of those bands that you heard so much of them that you love them. As a kid I loved to listen to 70's and 80's rock, and the Clash is one of the good ones. The Police are also very talented. They write very good music but i would say that their lyrics are a little creepy at times they are amazing.

The police is a very interesting band. They were an English rock band formed in London in 1977. Most of their career, the band consisted of Sting, Andy Summers, and Stewart Copeland. The Police became globally popular in the late 1970's and are generally regarded as one of the first New wave groups to achieve mainstream success, playing a style of rock that was influenced by punk, reggae, and jazz. In my opinion the lyrics are good but sometimes they are a little creepy. For an example, in the song "I'll be watching you", is really creepy, but the song is really catchy. My favorite song by the police is Roxanne. I know a lot of people say Roxanne when they hear the police, but its just a great song.
Punk rock was awesome and weird at the same time and was a turning point for Rock and Roll and music in general. By the late 1976, bands such as the Ramones in new York city, and the Sex pistols and The Clash in london were recognized as the vanguard of a new musical movement. My dad loves to listen to late 70's and 80's music and when i was a kid i would listen to bands with a punk rockish feel and it kind of grew on me. We also listened to U2 and the Police which I still love today.

Stevie wonder is very interesting artist. He was signed by mo-town when he was 11 and played the harmonica. Ray Charles taught him how to play the piano. Then he started to write music and he was very good at it. He was writing music, playing all these instruments and he is blind. I would say that one of his influences is Paul McCartney. You can kind of tell when Stevie sings, he has Paul's singing style. He later played a song with Paul called Ebony and Ivory.
I like the romones in a weird way. They don't make the best music and they don't have the best lyrics but they rock hard. You made a good point in class by saying its about doing it and making punk rock. That's what they did, they sounded crazy and it's catchy. Like "now I want to sniff some glue" is lyrically terrible but it's catchy and it makes my inner child want to dance.

I found a new band that im really starting to like. They are an indie rock band called Milo Greene. They remind me of The Head and the Heart and Of monsters of men.
This is my favorite song by them.

I've never seen Led Zeppelin live before and I loved them. I can see why people wouldn't like them though. They seem to connect their songs and it seems like they've been playing non stop for 15 minutes. They still sounded good in my opinion. They always were doing something new and weird while they were playing. My favorite part was when the guitarist was playing with a violin string. I thought that was interesting and ive never seen it before.

Paul's album is great start to finish. I was into it from the start. He's a very good song writer and he can play any instrument you throw at him. I think that's an important skill an artist should have. If I had to chose one person to have in my band I would probably pick Paul, because he just great all across the board.
We listened to John Lenon's solo album and I have bother but good things to say about it. I really like him as a song writer and a singer. His music remembers me of what the beetles would make. I thought the album flowed very well. There weren't any songs that I absolutely hated. I can't compare him to Paul because they are both talented musicians and they both have there pros and cons. I really like Johns album and I really want to her George's album.

You played a song by Des Ark from her album don't rock the boat, sink the f*cker. And fell in love with her voice. I listened to the rest of the album and it was really good.
This is my favorite song on the album.

I was really impressed with her. I look forward to listen to more of her.

I honestly thought that Abby Road was not that good. They have really good songs on it but I didnt feel it when i was listening to it. Today in class we listened to Pauls solo album and i kind of liked it. I like that weirdness in his music. I always love when one person plays all the instruments in a song because it just makes the music feel so much more cooler.
We listened to Zep 4 and my thoughts on it were very good. The songs are so amazing and they kill every song. There lyrics are okay but that doesnt bother me at all when i listen to them. I think its werid how stairway to heaven is 8 minutes long but it felt like 4. Also they had another song that was 4 minutes but felt like 8. Zeppelin is a very good band in my eyes.

Copyright is a good thing to an extent. If I made something that I worked hard on and somebody else did the same thing but called it some else then i would be pretty upset. There was a guy who made a mouse similar to mickey mouse but said it was different. I would be mad. I don't somebody using my idea then alter it and make it a little different.
The movie about copyright was really eye opening. I never really knew a whole about companies using it to control the media. I feel like it was a lot one sided though. He basically was saying that everything should be shared and and nobody would take credit for something. Copyright isn't that bad of a thing, it's there for a reason. But I see his point about the Music industries taking advantage of it.
